    Why I built HOALaw.ai

I built this tool to help my own HOA research questions about state law and our governing documents. After buying my condo, I discovered that our association's financial reports were inaccurate. I convinced the board to move to self-management, and I became the person who researched the law whenever a question came up. Our self-management case study tells that story.

During interviews with other small, self-managed HOAs, some told me they retained a manager partly so they had someone to turn to when questions arose. Those conversations reinforced the value of an accessible research resource.

Today, HOALaw.ai is built for homeowners, HOA boards, and community managers, whether an association is self-managed or professionally managed. Lexi, the research assistant, helps you research state law alongside your governing documents and shows the citations behind each answer so you can check the source and prepare informed conversations with professionals.
